🌍 Students at Bear Creek Elementary participated in a science presentation on Earth's rotation and the moon's phases, thanks to the campus PTA. The session served as a fun lead-up to Earth Day, which is observed tomorrow. 🌍

Blue Paws and Golden Paws are awarded to students for following the Creek Credo. The Cubs showed respect, kindness, worked hard and gave no excuses. The teachers and staff at BCE recognized their efforts. She always shows such kindness to everyone in our classroom and is always willing to lend a helping hand! Mrs. Herring is so proud of you! She is a great helper and kind to everyone! Way to go Cub and I love you! He has a no excuses attitude! He is quick to help and is kind to everyone! Way to go Cub and I love you!" Always comes to class prepared, shows her plan, and is ready to learn! He has done a great job following the Bear Creek Credo! He’s been working hard, following directions and no letting other students distract him from his tasks! I’m so proud of him.

Level Up Staff Congratulations to our staff leveling up! Dr. Cortesio: Let's give a big round of applause for Dr. Cortesio! She's been absolutely phenomenal this year, pouring her energy into our young musicians across five grade levels for evening programs and leading our fantastic 4th/5th-grade choir. Dr. Cortesio has been on a mission to help our Cubs discover their singing voices and learn what it takes to be great singers. Her dedication and passion are truly inspiring, and she consistently goes above and beyond for our students and Bear Creek. No excuses, just great music happening here! We're definitely seeing our students Level Up their musical talents under her guidance. Ms. Vick: Beth has been working tirelessly behind the scenes, navigating budget deadlines with extreme focus. She's been relentless in ensuring our educators have the materials and resources they need to keep the learning engaging and impactful right up to the very last day. Whether it's sourcing that specific type of paper for a special project or making sure a teacher has the tech support they need, Ms. Vick is always on it! So, a huge thank you, Ms. Vick! We are incredibly proud and grateful for your dedication and the positive impact you have on our entire school. You're helping us all level up!

Our Kindergarten Cubs enjoyed an evening of learning and entertainment with their families and teachers. The teachers led a science activity, followed by the Cubs singing! We are grateful for our dedicated staff members who love spending time with the Creek community, and we deeply appreciate the support of our families.

We had some amazing news to share from our Specials department! Our talented students in Ms. Vestal's classes recently took their artwork to the next level, showcasing their incredible creations in downtown Grapevine. It was a proud moment for our school community to see their hard work and creativity celebrated. A big thank you to Ms. Vestal for her support and to all the families who came out to share in this special success. These young artists are truly leveling up!

The small bus circle is designated for students needing assistance at drop-off. Our Special Education staff is present to assist families of students with special needs. This drop-off line moves slower than the large loop. Please use the large loop unless you have made arrangements with our Special Education team for assisted drop-off in the bus circle.

Level Up Staff Congratulations to our staff leveling up! Dr. Canafax organized a wonderful first day of STAAR testing. We are so thankful for his organization and planning. The first STAAR day at BCE was smooth. Mr. G gives no excuses. This week, he was leading a group of students and they were rolling their lunches in a small cart. The cart lost a wheel and Mr. G did not let it stop his line. He took the wheel, picked up the wheel and the heavy cart with the lunches and got his group of students through the transition smoothly.

A GCISD network team and Spectrum are onsite at Bear Creek working to resolve the network issue. In the meantime, we were able to continue learning and finish Reading STAAR testing. We are planning to continue with a normal dismissal at the regular time. Thank you for your patience during this outage. 💛💙🐻

Wednesday, April 9th, grades 3 - 5, will take the STAAR Reading Test. BCE Campus will be closed to all visitors (this includes lunches). Arrive at school by 7:30. Thank you for supporting our students and our BCE campus!

No Visitor Days April 9 April 22 April 29 To best support our Cubs during testing in April, we will be designating three no-visitor days. This allows us to concentrate our efforts on providing a quiet and undisturbed testing environment. During these days, we will not be able to accommodate lunch visitors, parent-teacher meetings, guest speakers, or volunteers. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in prioritizing our students' testing needs.

Sky Ranch students are loaded up to head home! Our current ETA is 3 pm.
